All contents are editable on a text-editor-like user interface, which don't require high level IT knowledge. This editor contains all standard tools (paragraphs, tables, lists, page break, textbox) and additional features to attach other contents (eg. images, votes, media contents, links) from editorial system. If this is not enough for you, you can use external editor and import edited contents too.
The contents created has special properties for visualization on portal side. These parameters make controllable when a content should published on portal and when it have to been removed.
Besides contents the menu structure could be edited here. The full hierarchy of one or more portal is manageable on one place. The CMS and the portal has specialized security services, you can create roles and users - content access is pased on a simple permission system.
There are more people in a normal editoral office, where job organizing is needed to reach better efficiency. Our system has support to organize work with an RBAC-model-based permission and access subsystem and an easy, built-in workflow management.
The CMS implements a simple workflow framework based on open standards (XPDL-WfMC, OMG). Using this tool managers could create dinamically changeable workflow processes. This is the basis for content quality management - only controlled, excellent contents are published on the portal.
Open for creativity
Daily work should be easy and friendly with a tool - this is a rule of thumb. But only the base rule. Work with contents is a usual work and sometimes a portal needs design changes or face lifting. With DOKK system this is easy: the portal designer tools is designed for these works. With these tools the pages are customizable and could be fully changed. You can build new pages or change old ones with our drag-and-drop page editor.
After page composition there are more built-in tools and editors to set up required design of saved page. A portal could have microsites with specialized design too, or a heading can contain different show style than others. Whole interface of a portal is freely fashionable.
With profiles you can define special designs for new devices like mobile phones, multitouch screens and accessibility (eg. for users with poor sight).
For portal core there are a lot of available extension modules. Groupware, forum, advertising and HR-working hours management are available as modules. For more informations about extension modules please contact us or consult our information documents.
Flexibility and platform-independence
In development of DOKK system we try for create a platform-independent system. Whole system (except a few special extensions) was written in Java language, which is running on large number of different operating systems (included Microsoft Windows, UNIX, Linux distributions). Contained datas could be stored in different RDBMS systems (eg. PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Oracle).
Thanks to the modularity DOKK is scalable from one-server architecture up to distributed environments and a new server could be hot deployable too.
